Terms of use
Draft of 19 October 2026. Not yet in force.
These terms are the agreement between you and [Thalk, operator name and legal form to be confirmed] ("Thalk", "we") for the Thalk iPhone app and the thalk.me website. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Thalk.
1. What Thalk is
Thalk is a tool for thinking something through. An AI asks you short questions out loud and you answer by touch or in your own words; at the end you get a summary and a suggested next step. The questions, options and summaries are generated by AI and may be wrong, odd or unhelpful. Treat them as prompts for your own thinking, not as facts or advice.
Thalk is not a medical, mental-health, legal or financial service and does not replace a doctor, therapist, lawyer or adviser. If you are in crisis or at risk, contact the emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure; what happens under your Thalk account is your responsibility.
- One account per person. Don't share it or sell it.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That ends this agreement.
3. Free and paid plans
- Free: 3 conversations of up to 5 rounds each. We may change the free allowance; we won't take away conversations you have already started.
- Paid (Thalk Plus): £9.99 a month or £59.99 a year, bought through Apple's App Store as an auto-renewing subscription, with a 3-day free trial once per Apple ID. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. Prices include VAT and may differ by country.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings; you keep access until the period you have paid for ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules.
- Thalk Plus includes up to 60 conversations a month. To keep Thalk affordable for everyone we apply fair-use limits as needed to prevent unfair use (for example a cap on how much a single account can use in a month). We'll tell you in the app if you reach one.
- If we raise a price, we tell you in advance and you can cancel before it applies.
4. Your content
What you say and type in Thalk is yours. You give us permission to store it and to send it to the AI and voice providers listed in the privacy policy, only to run the service for you. We don't use your conversations to train AI models, and we don't read them except when you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it.
Summaries and the questions the AI generates for you are yours to keep, export and share.
5. What you must not do
- Use Thalk to harm, harass or deceive anyone, or to break the law.
- Try to extract the prompts, reverse-engineer the app, or overload or probe our servers.
- Use automated tools to run conversations.
- Resell access or pass off Thalk as your own.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. We will tell you why unless the law stops us.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Thalk running but can't promise it will always be available or error free. We may change or remove features, and may stop the service altogether with at least 30 days' notice; if you have paid for time you don't get, Apple will refund it under its rules. We'll change these terms occasionally and tell you in the app when it matters.
7. Our responsibility to you
Thalk is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you take based on something the AI said, or for losses that we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you.
8. Intellectual property
The app, the website, the name Thalk and the design belong to us. The AI models and voices belong to their providers. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement where it applies.
9. Apple
Thalk is distributed through the App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims about the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU you may rely on the mandatory consumer laws and courts of your home country. If something goes wrong, email us first at hello@thalk.me and we'll try to sort it out.
